I've been a PWC rider for over 7 years and you can say the same thing about them too. People complain that PWCs are an annoyance, too fast, dangerous, pollute, etc. Like you say, manufacturers are making great strides and introducing cleaner 4 stroke technology that is quieter then 2 stroke counterparts, and makes more reliable power to boot.
It only takes one young kid to do something stupid and ruin it for everyone else. Parents should realize that a PWC/snowmobile is not a toy just like a car is not a toy. An 890lb boat with 215hp thats capable of 70mph is not something young, inexperienced riders should be trusted with.
I agree...be mindful of riders respectful of the laws and people's property.
