I am in the know only from having taken it apart, dropped everything, and then put it back together so it works. I have the newer switchpack in my '94 Aero. I haven't taken that apart yet, but it certainly has the autodown feature. The newer ones have the lip and raised switch rather than the recessed rocker for the windows (what you push to make the window up and down, so as not to confuse my use of the word "rocker" with my copper switch descriptions previous.

Someone who has taken the other type apart may be able to help here, but if it is anything like the older "new" style switchpack, the third contact or "spring" can be positioned too high, I think and not make contact when the switch is pushed on the outside to its full extension. I found that there was a balance. Right now, anytime I push the switch for window down, I get the autodown. I positioned the third contact too close to the copper rocker switch inside. Backing it off a bit would allow me to put the window down and then the extra push would activate this feature as it should.

If you aren't a bonehead like I can be at times, you'll get your pack apart and see how everything goes. Just a little goes a long way on that third contact! Anyway, good luck. It's a quick bored at work job as long as you know the four different kinds of copper rocker switches and where they go, which you do. Until I get my '94 back with the newer pack, it would be nice if someone could confirm the same design on that, too. Even the older packs have a similar design, so I can't imagine that it would be significantly different in anything but the design of the plastic switches themselves.

On a side note, I found it amusing that at least one of the sponsors had a quick writeup on the switches but suggested that it was too hard to put it back together and most people would fail, so they should just save themselves the time and buy a new one. This is a simple, fun job. Don't believe the hype.
