I probably go with the DKE 169 system you linked. My car isn't with me now, but when I get it on Friday I'll be able to tear apart the rear and check out whats in there. If the rear MBs fit as well as the front ones did, it'll be perfect!
For now I'll probably stick with the stock HU, even though I really don't want to. But I don't want to lose the Clarion CD changer that I put in only 3 years ago. I do, however, have an unused Clarion HU sitting in my garage from around 2000 that I could play with. It was purchased for the old '90 900S when its HU died, but the car was traded in a few months later. It really isn't that ugly for a new HU, I think it lights up green like the rest of the interior.
I'll let you know how it goes. Once I got a taste of how good the front could sound, I couldn't resist thinking about the back!
