I'm interested in what you are looking at for this. This may be a good idea if the reduced voltage and power (after what is essentially a voltage splitter circuit) can still drive the BPC coils and if the drive transistors can source enough power for the additional load. A pair of resistors may also protect the drive transistors if one of the coils shorts out. I know this can happen firsthand from my car, and was actually curious why the ECU wasn't designed with any protection built in -I guess the ECU designers didn't expect so many BPC coils to bite the dust (different manufacturers). "AFT", the sole source manufacturer of the BPC solenoid, is certainly not the leader in automotive component design.
