I am assuming the car is a 5 speed standard.
1. Separate the selector rod universal joint and selector rod.
2. Lock the gear lever in reverse by inserting a 0.16 in. (4 mm) drill bit through the locating holes in the gear lever and lever housing. In order to get to holes you would have to remove the rubber boot for access to the holes.
3. Connect the selector rod to the selector universal joint and tighten the pinch bolt to 22-25 ft. lbs.(30-33 Nm).
4. Remove the drill bit and install the rubber boot.
