how about the air temp fan in the dash? the little bullseye thing near the seat heater switches. there is a motor with a fan on it to pull air past a sensor to sample the cabin air temp. it usually get clogged up with stuff. you can take a paperclip and bend it into a hook, hook into the grill *make sure you get more than one poriton of the plastic or you may break it* and wiggle to pull the cover off. flashlight will help you see if the inside looks clean or like a cloths dryer lint trap! use a can of computer compressed air to give it a good cleaning, don't push the sensor wire around. leave the cover off and try for a day or to and listen for the noise. if you are lucky it's gone. if you can determine it is the unit it is replaceable as well as a junk yard item. if you id the noise somewhere else.... I'm stumped.
