another thing you can do to get the TCS limp home mode to let up some without a key restart is to hold the brake down (with your left foot as you continue gas with your right - you will need to force the gas as it will not be "power assisted") *slightly* and you should feel the gas pedal get more like normal. It's another test and reset for the system. I have three 9K's. One did the throttle body about 9 years ago and it's been great until last year, needed to replace vaccum lines. I purchased bulk length silicon 4mm and replaced all of them. Wha Who! The turbo power is BACK. then the hooter valve said "hey, I can't keep up with all of this" and started doing it's whoooo whoooo thing. So I put another one in from my parts car. All is well.
I'd say, first check all of the vaccum lines. There are three from the left fender somewhat near the battery. One goes all the way behind the throttle body. Make sure you get that one too...
You can two foot drive the car, it's a pain in the posterior but you can.
let us know how you are doing.
