Jon: I was able to do the reset (though I had to hold the buttons for more like 6 to 10 seconds for the diag to start), and, if you can believe this, running the diagnostics seemed to fix the problem. After the diagnostic ran thru its procedure, the system seemed to be working fine. The air conditioning came on as it should and when I rasied the thermostat the heater came on, but at a normal level, not blasting. A note from another member, Ari, said that sometimes running the diagnostic fixes the problem, and that seems to be the case. I will be taking the car out a little later today and have a chance to see if it is really fixed, but I'm not going to do anything else unless the old problem resurfaces.
Thank you very much for your advice. This is the first time I have used Saabnet for a problem, but I'll be back.
