In my limited experience there was a lot of variability. About a year ago I had to replace the BPC that had functioned well since I owned the car. One coil was open. The replacement worked more or less if you slowly accelerated although the response seemed slow. However if you stomped on it the engine would sometimes go to fuel cut off. This was disconcerting because I ususlly only stomp on it when I need to. Last month I bought another BCP now the response is back and it has yet to go to fuel cut off.
