well I do not have emissions testings and my 94 Aero is the first car that I have kept the converter,(only because i am to tired to pull it off and it runs very well with it)
but I have removed them from 2 900 SPG's a 944 Turbo and a Audi 5000s Quattro and removing it will most definatly give a huge boost in performance, and accutally the Audi still passed emisions (it was sold to A guy who had it tested). generally I got a increase in MPG and very noticable HP increase. my Audi Quattro was a dog, but it was a 5spd, removing the Cat made a huge difference in the car, I would have sold that car if I hadn't removed it. BUT now that goes back to the 80's and 90's mostly, and the Audi was just a few years ago. I assume emissions testing is getting tougher, but I think the Saabs still run pretty clean, Although not sure if i would pull a good one off again. generally I would find a used one to cleanout or make my own pipe and keep the cat just in case.
