it is difficult... you can get at it from below, reaching up, but if the nuts don't want to come off easily, it's difficult if not impossible.
i would up removing power steering pump, pushing to side, removing alt bolts, and rotated alt so i could get at it...
removing intake manifold would have been easier, SO MUCH EASIER, i imagine...
removing intake i learned is very easy...
you remove two sections with several bolts and the remaining piece stays attached to the engine. just watch hose routing and disconnection of wiring.
