There is a test for the MAP sensor - I'll have to look it up. The only thing critical about the hose to the MAP is that it doesn't collapse at engine idle (high vacuum). The material is immaterial, and since there is no flow, the inside diameter isn't important. Not having a leak is important.
I'd run a tank or two with some fuel injector cleaner. Deposits on the injectors could cause a reduction in fuel flow. Obviously, any vacuum leak is a bad thing. What is the condition of the four short fat pipes from the intake plenum to the cylinders? Those can leak if the clamps aren't tight, and there is a lot of surface area. I look for streaks of black grease on the engine in intake plenum at the hoses - leaks work both ways, and the exhaust of oily/gassy air attracts dust.
Another place to look is the condition of the gasket under the fuel filler cap. A bad seal there creates a vacuum leak into the crankcase, which gets drawn into intake.
