Check which system is giving you problem.... it will either be fuel related; ignition related; and/or induction.
To check the ignition system:
- start at the end. Take a DI, turn it upside down and stuff any four plugs that you wish into it. Now, get for wires and ground each spark plug to the negative terminal of your battery.
- knowing your wire connectors are good, have some turn over the engine while you stand and look at the upside down DI in a low light condition. Do you see all four plugs sparking? If so, your ignition system is working. If not, check the components that make the ignition system work.
To check for fuel:
- Crack the fuel line at the fuel rail. Once again, have some crank the engine or jumper fuse 14 (fuel pump) with fuse 22 (harzard fuse - constant voltage). If fuel starts sparying all over the engine compartment and your face (btw... you might want to put on safety glasses) you know you have proper fuel pressure and your pump is working. If the fuel dribbles out or doesn't come out at all, you have low fuel pressure and it is time for a new pump.
Check the induction system;
- do a visual check....look for hoses that have come off or big cracks in the intake plumbing. If the hole is big enough, it could cause a "no start condition".
Hope the above helps cause I owe you one..... some months back you gave me info regarding tranny info that help me out and it was greatly appreciated!
Cheers
