I had some slipping problems with my 97 9000 auto transmission. It would slip a bit between shifts and starting from stop. From the board here got the idea it might be governor seals. Called Erikkson about it and ordered the governor seal kit for $50. Took about 2 hours to get the new seals in and has worked well since. this was one year and 20,000 miles ago. For the time, effort and price it might be worth a try. At least call them and tell them the symptoms. They are a good source for a rebuilt box if you need to replace it. good Luck
