highway groan louder at speeds (could be CV?) Posted by henry helfman [Email] (#787) [Profile/Gallery] (more from henry helfman) on Thu, 25 Jan 2007 18:17:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I replaced front wheel bearings hoping that would do it.
About 10k miles ago I replaced a torn CV boot and there has since been some grease thrown inside the wheel. I guess I didn't get the outer boot clamp strap tight enough. Is it possible that my CV has dried itself out and is causing the noise? There is no clicking and the noise is only heard over 30mph getting gradually louder with speed. The CV boot looks good now
A groaning CV seems strange. Is it possible that I have a bad rear wheel bearing?
