Yesterday while driving to work my battery light came on and so I switched the info over to the voltage meter and watched the battery slowly go down. So i thought it was the alternator. Made it to the part store and then after a charge of the battery from another car I was able to make it home. After 3 hours and lot's of headach I got the alternator replaced, only to find out as soon as I started the car it did was not the alternator. I had the battery on charge while doing the job and as soon as i stared the car it was at 12.2 but then started going back down all the way until the car would not run again. Usually whiel runnign the volt meter reads 14.1 I was wondering what else you all might think it would be. Now after spending half the night and lot's of money for a part that I prob did not need to buy I'm at ends. Is their a voltage regulator someplace? I was also wondering if their was a single charging wire that ran from the alt to the battery that may have broke I just got this car so i'm not too familier with everything any help would be appreciated. all I know is that the altanator is not the easiest job and i'm sure it would be big bucks at the shop and what's up with the tensioner for the belt..that thing was a pain..well hopefully someone has had something like this and can help me out..thanks jason
