...LPT is a regular N/A engine, which is higher compression than a turbo engine. Going too high with the boost will blow the gaskets, warp or break the crank, or kill the pushrods or pistons.
You cannot really make an LPT into a FPT unless you want to get FPT electronics and lower 1/2 of the engine block.
LPT's are faster off the line, so unless you are doing 85MPH all day long, I think you have an awesome and less fiddly setup that should last you for years. I would resist the temptation of increasing the boost above 6PSI. Anything more and you may have issues.
Justin Duthi, also known as Justin HiFi has done several LPT conversions and can answer many of your questions. He has LPT 9000's and I believe LPT900's.
