If the relay is clicking in your hand as you pull it in and out, that implies the relay is closing (and opening). If you want to troubleshoot further, disconnect the power lead from the AC compressor clutch - if you get 12 volts on it when ACC is at AUTO (it does switch on and off), but goes to 0 when you touch that lead to the AC compressor clutch wire, then the contacts are dirty on the AC relay.

Or, just pop the case off the AC relay, and use a little fine sandpaper or an emery board to clean up the contacts. Nothing major - just knock off the big stuff and try and see a little bright metal. Don't grind off the plating. Or you might open the relay and see the contacts melted to slag - for that, I recommend a new relay.

I'd try cleaning up the relay and seeing if that works.

The freeze-up switch is mounted on the condensor - it looks just like a thermostat (copper tube), because it is. If it thinks the condensor is at or below freezing, it turns off the AC. But check the relay first.
