Reservoir-
Chances are it isn't the reservoir that is leaking, but one of the one-way valves in the area. To access it, climb under the right front of the car, and drop the horizontal plastic cover behind the air dam. The one-way valves/Tees are little black plastic doo-hickeys. You can buy them new from the dealer, or mail order them for a lot less. I'll bet you'll see fluid coming out of a busted diaphram on a Tee. Mail order, all of about $3.
For any parts, eEuroparts (eEuroparts.com) has good prices and fast delivery.
Are you sure it is the master cylinder? The master drives the slave cylinder - poor clutch response could be either.
As to the muffler - check for missing hangers. They do stiffen up and then fall off with time and heat. Just check for leaks and such. And don't wait - if not hung properly, the joints tend to crack.
