How much tread was left on the old tires? After putting 250k on a 9000CDT and over 300k on a 900S, and putting the *same* tires on each car about four or five or more times in a row... I recognized that worn tires have a very different feel than the new ones. Inflation more or less didn't matter. *I* was used to running near slicks what don't have much angle change under load. When I put the new tires on the car (Michelin MXV4's Pirelli P4's, P400's or P6's, Dunlop A2's) the car felt "funny" (loose, squishie, floating, late on turns) for about month until *I* was calibrated to having new tires that had *full* tread depth and needed a different driving style because the tread would flex and needed additional steering input. I have Dunlop A2's on RED right now and know I need to replace them. Being on the left coast rain and snow aren't driving factors so I'm putting it off until after the http://www.24hoursoflemons.com I *already know* that the new ones will feel odd for a bit. After *my* adaptation run of a month.... I wont' even think about it... but I could be wrong... :)
