We did call the place and explain our problem. They contacted the place that supplied the trans and now we are waiting to hear back from them about getting a replacement. Unfortunately the original trans repair show is over 180 miles away. But they are affiliated with a local place and we're trying to find out if THEY will put the replacement in for free. The trans itself was the most costly part of the original repair.
We did get AAA last year before the son went to college just in case he needed a jump or tow. He had to use it several times, so it has been well worth it. First year was a special price, but even with the renewal price it will be worth it. Especially when son #2 goes off to college next year.
AAA only tows up to 5 miles and they don't tow to junk yards. You have to pay anything beyond that.
Hopefully the repair will work out and give us a little more time with the car.
