Hi Folks, and thanks for adding your experiences.
My problems with the other formulations I've tried have been mostly
weather and time related; since I work at night, I usually do the prep
work on the rust in the morning before heading off to bed, and most of
the times I've done it, by the time I get back to it there's been either
rain, or enough humidity to start it rusting visibly again.
That's why I was impressed when the Rust-oleum stuff went black and
stayed black even after the rain - that was a big difference from the
other ones I've used !

I have a nice older truck that the last owner did with POR-15 and I was
very impressed with that until I saw the pricing - even at the local
parts place it is way high - and I have heard too many different guys
each with a different story as to what suffices as to prep work; it
has varied all the way from: 'just slap it on !' to 'you MUST use their
prep products or the world as we know it will cease to exist !'.
Needless to say, between the confusion and the $$$ I passed on it for
now...

Dick - good luck on your testing !
I have most of a quart of Rust-mort you can have if you want it...I've
decided it is not up to what I want out of such a product.

Abusot, I guess the Ospho type stuff is for day people as opposed to
the 'night owls' like me - and just not worth losing sleep over in my
scheme of things !

Keep the helpful info coming - Thanks Folks !

mark
