Captain,
2.5" to 3" should show the same results on dyno as long as the BHP target is under 500-550 BHP. A straight 2.5" pipe with no restrictions can flow over 450 BHP of exhaust while a 3" will provide over 550 BHP of flow. If the BHP targets are under these ranges, either size will show similar BHP improvements via dyno although the 3" size tends to slightly reduce some low end BHP(2K-3K RPM turbocharger spool) due to the slowed exhaust speeds through the larger diameter pipe.
The downpipe to CC diameter could benefit from a 3" with no compromise to turbocharger spool.
Best of luck and regards,
GaryK at SWEDISH DYNAMICS,INC.
