So last night was a nice cool nite = great turbo weather. Long straightaway following a slow poke in a 55mph zone - country roads winding up a 1000ft elevation gain hill/mountainside. Behind me is a late model crew cab pickup, nothing suped up - just plain jane. I pass the slowpoke and after I get in, the pickup in turn passes as well. Now the two of us are doing 65 starting to climb the mountain. Hes not riding my butt, but he's close enough for me to get the impression that he thinks hes Rusty Wallace...and maybe Im Mario Andretti. Now we all know how good it feels spooling up the turbo climbing hills...well let me tell you...this PIKUPTRUK was on me the whole way, the only time I put space between him and me was on the straights ..but only briefly. He was right there on the turns and seemed like it was no problem at all for him. I know these things have big ole V8s or maybe V10s in them..and coulda been a diesel with gobs of torque...but come on! I won't say what kind of speeds we were doing ..but I was pushing my comfort level for safety..( no traffic ..wide shoulders - clear weather etc. ) I guess Im just a little peeved that at any time I could have been embarrassed by a ....gasp...PIKUPTRUK?
