i've had three, a '90 5 spd n/a, a '92 5 spd n/a, and a '93 auto n/a...
my favorite, and the most 'saab'-like of the three, was the 90 with burgundy cloth seats... the 92 got the best gas mileage, both were basically trouble free... the '93 has had so many things replaced, wear items, i guess i bought it a year to early from the prior owner... but it's like a new car (except for the headliner), but it doesn't have tcs, and it's been reliable despite wear items being replaced... the later years don't have the glovebox which i find highly useful, but they do have airbag for the passenger...
i don't know what changed, but i like the handling on the '90 and '92 body car... maybe the weight distribution is different on the '93 and later cars, but the earlier ones felt more sporty to drive.
