How much is the car worth to you? More to the point, how much would it cost you to get a car in the same condition, but with a brand new head gasket? That's how I'd make the decision. Take into account what you might replace the car with. If it's another 9000, then consider what you have recently replaced on this car. For example, if it's recently had a new headliner, blower motor and heater core, and maybe another couple of things that are prone to failure on the 9000, and maybe it has no body rust, then you'd want to keep this one. How much is the mechanic going to charge for the new head gasket, BTW?
