cooling fans, temp gauge.. Posted by Dan [Email] (#2459) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dan) on Tue, 1 Apr 2008 18:03:31 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Two quick things:
On my '96 9000CSE I have no idea where the thermoswitch for the fans might be (this is my third 9000 and all others have had it in the radiator itself) so that I can find out why my fans never turn on.
Second, when I got this car, the temp gauge was iffy at best and would jump from nothing to maybe, MAYBE a quarter of the way up the gauge. Again. unlike all my previous 9000s, this one has the two wire version sender. I replaced that and now have a working gauge but it never reads above the quarter mark. Is there a way to test the gauge itself (similar to how I'd have done it with the single wire senders by grounding the wire?)
I plan on changing the thermostat shortly and giving the coolant system a flush but would like to solve remedy these issues at the same time if possible.
thanks for your help.
Dan
