Crumple zones have been around for a while. The 9000 was ahead of its time, especially in safety. No doubt its not the safest car still, but you don't go from first to last in just a decade. I don't get peoples belief in new "technology" You really think a new Kia has anywhere near the amount of engineering that went into older german and swedish cars? Or that we have somehow progressed milleniums?
