Don't forget the Moose Impact test for the 9000

It's a good point to bring up that Safety means different things today than when the 9000 was introduced. You still cannot argue the safety measures that were built into the car aside from the SRS system.
I bought my Aero shortly before my first child was born. Aside from the fact that is massaged my closet Saab fetish, my research led me to understand the lengths that Saab has gone for years to design safety into the car from day one as opposed to band aid solutions down the line. Any company that adds their own "moose impact" test to their list of safety standards is on the right track in my book.
Note: just test drove an Aero the other day from a long time Saaber. In conversation he said a few years ago that he was t-boned on the passenger side by a mid-80's Ford truck at about 45mph. He was able to open his door and get out of the car. The driver of the truck didn't survive the accident.
Wayyy off topic, but I've seen some test videos of the Volkswagen T3 Vanagon (80's). It's an amazing piece of safety. Absolutely destroys a Volvo 740 wagon in a head on collision. All without compromising the shallow driver area.
