Hi.
The alarm system pretty much seems to be voodoo to everyone - and I've had
very little good fortune finding help with it.
Most folks just get angry with it and want to disconnect it altogether.
I've had several cars which had perfectly functional systems - they arm
when the driver's door is locked, and disarm the same way up to '95 when
they added the remote which also controls it.
It is easy to re-connect the ignition in a car that is stopped by the
alarm's ignition opener circuit - it is a pair of (I think) yellow/? wires
which go from the alarm ECU to the ignition switch and they can be jumpered
together to make the circuit whole again.
The alarm ECU is on the right inside the space behind the glovebox when
it is removed - it is very easy to get to.
I found wiring diagrams for the system someplace at a site - and it may
be hidden someplace in the Townsend site which has at least got some
decent info, here:
http://townsendimports.com/Web/alarm_folder/alarm_adj_docs.htm
There are PDF files with more info at the individual pages.
Good luck !
