I have the same problem. I have a Vacuum guage as my boost gauge and it gives me inches of boost. I get to a weak 13(12.9) and not a strong 14" like I want to.

I am not super knowledgeable, butI do manage to get things fixed. My question is, does fuel pressure affect this? If I am losing fuel pressure due to a kink in my fuel tank plastic hose, or a bad pump or filter would that cause the boost to cut prematurely?

Also the comment about engine age or wear confuses me. I do know rings wear and bearings wear and the throttle body and fuel injectors get dirty, but in general these things wouldn't reduce Hp that much would they? I had a Volvo 940 Turbo that was at 212K that was real demon and i dont think it lost a step. Or am i wrong? Is their actual an empirical relationship between age of a well maintained engine and Hp loss? These engines are not Chevette engines. Obviously if one were at 380K miles, there might be a problem, but a well maintained 170 K engine is not that old.
