What you say, which I agree with mostly, is true of all cars. This is because we are seeing the beginning of the end (hopefully) of gasoline powered cars. Gas prices will never go lower and will likely skyrocket as we run out of petroleum and the emerging markets of China and India drive the price of what little gas there is into the stratosphere.
I like my 9k and will continue to drive it, mostly because its paid for. I would disagree that parts are expensive. Aftermarket sources for major wear items are readily available and cheap.
Just drive less and enjoy the Saab when you do drive. I fill mine up less than once a month and I live in metropolitan Miami, where you have to have a car. I take mass transit to work downtown, gets me there in the same time as driving. I bicycle to the grocery store that is less than two miles away from my house and to other errands around the neighborhood, like going tothe video store.
I still go to the beach or the upper Keys now and again in the Saab, so I don't deprive myself af anything really.
