Aaron,
I would get a new O-ring for the fuel pump, just to have it on hand. You won't know the condition of the old one until the retaining ring is removed. When I replaced the pump in my '92 9000S a couple of weeks ago, the old O-ring swelled up so badly that it wouldn't fit in the ring where it's supposed to go, after the retaining ring was off. But a day later the old one shrunk back down to the right size, after I had bought a new one.
Another trick on the check valves for the fuel pressure and fuel return lines is to spray a good amount of WD-40 where they mount in the pump housing before gently working them up with pliers or vise grips. Don't pull them straight up with alot of force. Just lightly turn them left and right while pulling up gently and they should work right off without breaking off.
