in the near future to replace my gas tank, hopefully my insurance claim will be finally settled this week.
with all the trouble i've heard about removing them, i'm considering buying a new ring and gasket, that way if i have to cut the old one out, to make life easier, i'll have a new one to put on the used tank.
my question is this... is it difficult to install and tighten the new ring, even as difficult as removing the old one. meaning, do i really need to design a good tool for tightening as well as removing?
also, is it best to replace the pump ring gasket with a new one, or will the new one make 'tightening' the ring more difficult.
these might be silly questions, but i've never tackled the fuel pump r&r
thanks,
aaron
