Not a bad self fix if you are OK working on your back for 30-40 minutes. Jack and then place support stand on one front corner of the car. Wedge something under the "cat-back" portion of the exhaust to support it once the flex pipe is removed (found a cardboard box the right height in the basement). Take note of how the original flex pipe is positioned / angled (I placed some sharpie marks on both the old and new pipe to try and aid the alignment process). Depending where your car lives you can attempt to undo the flange nuts, however I quickly reverted to cutting the 4 bolts. I got on OK using a cheap junior hacksaw. I would imagine it would be much quicker if you have an angle grinder and cutting blade. Clean up the flange ends if needed. Insert new pipe. Secure exhaust flange nuts by hand. Torque these nuts to 30 ft/lbs.

If installation isn't your thing - you may still be better off order the following from the below and having your indie or exhaust shop do the installation.

The intermediate / flex pipe saab part number I believe is 4393583 for the '93 -'98 9000 turbo and the factory part can be had for $104 at Saab Parts Online (shipping does take a while - but this was about 50% of the (unfitted) price the dealer wanted for the part). eEuroparts does an aftermarket Starla pipe for similar money, which people on here seem to think is of good quality (& eEuro have really quick shipping). You will likely also need 4 exhaust nuts. I went with the expensive Saab ones from eEuro (maybe with the false hope that these may hold together long enough that I may have a chance of getting them off in the future). However, there may be more affordable options out there.

Good luck
J
