I tracked the always-on "Hatch Open" indication on my '96 CS's dash to a lever-action microswitch deep in the hatch latch mechanism.

It shows closed all the time regardless of its actuating tongue's position. No external shorts in the leads, it's an internal problem. It's a "potted" switch, sealed up with epoxy or some other glue, and incredibly tiny, or I'd try taking it apart.

I did succeed in getting it out of the latch by prying off two speednut-type clips, then releasing the contacts and extracting them from the plug-in to the car.

I'd kind of like to have it working again.

I couldn't find anything much like it on a pretty intensive Google search under "microswitches" so I wonder:

Does anyone here know if I can get this from the dealer? I'll drop by and ask, if anyone thinks it's worth a try.

Is there an EPC listing that would show this?

No maker's name, but a tiny circular logo looking like the "at" symbol but with a lower case "m" at its center. Does anyone recognize this?

It bears this number: 1022.6745. (Google shows nothing for that number.)

It's pretty small: 1/4" thick by .8" long plus some for end of lever by .655" tall. Two mounting pegs, .456" or 11.5mm apart, of 2.5mm diameter or .1" Two leads out of it at one end. Not sure if it's NO or NC.

A standard SPDT switch might work if I could find one small enough and if terminals aren't where they interfere with the latch's workings. I couldn't find anything in the same form factor as this one.

Thanx all.
