So this morning, early, I went out to verify the symptoms are still the same (no-start). Cranked the engine for 15 seconds and no-start.
I got my multimeter out to measure the voltage (to ground, correct?)at the fuel pump fuse, and check the CPS interaction as you indicated, Ari.
Hooked it up and I see 0 (zero) volts with the key in the off position.
Turned the key to ON - 0 (zero) volts.
Turned the key to Start - 11.53 volts, but the car started without much cranking....
Shut the car off, waited a few seconds and tried it again and the car starts just fine - no coughing or sputtering.
So the problem preventing start is still intermittent and elusive.
I'll ask this question, but I think I know the answer - could the voltmeter connection have anything to do with masking the problem?
I'm going to go back and slowly and methodically walk thru Ari's no-start test procedure. I will also check the connections at the fuel pump (which I haven't checked yet).
Is there any other sure-fire way of determining whether or not the CPS is good or bad?
