no, I was not dismissing your TCS pointer, rather pointing out that the symptom didn't see to be TCS related, and that a 60 second test would rule out, or *in*, fuel.

The original post stated that the car just cranks, after previously acting like it was running out of gas (starting running briefly and dying), and if you've already swapped out a DI (looking for mr good spark...) then the next logical point was fuel. In my short experience with just a few Saabs, the TCS almost never stops a car from *starting*, however it can make it run very poorly to the point of stopping. But it does start. So, and Ari even suggested this before, give a shot of carb cleaner into the intake plenum to determine 1) if you have spark (aka don't purchase or swap a DI just yet...) 2) maybe you aren't getting fuel for some reason, or 3) maybe your tank really is empty? That was all. Just 60 seconds and if you have some carb cleaner already, very low cost.

I don't have any problems with being wrong, as long as I haven't convinced someone to purchase something expensive as a trouble shooting item. I would feel badly about that. I learn from this board all the time, and I only post when I think it's helpful.

99's? I only started with the first year of the 924. Right now, counting the two c900s I have to do work on, and the two I purchased from Jim Vickers (co worker of SoCal) and the two race cars I have....I have 12 c900s and 4 9000s here today. But the month is not half over... I only play with those models, but have dabbled in reading codes with my Tech-II for a buddy that does NG900 and some 9-3 work.

No dig intended...
