The battery is a group size 34R, which is a very uncommon size. You will probably not find it at Pep Boys, Autozone, Advance Auto, NAPA, Sears, etc. Ask me how I know.
There's no shopping to do. The only source of 34R batteries I know if is Interstate Batteries. They call it a Megatron II, part number MT-34R. It isn't cheap. The web site is interstatebatteries.com. If you're in the U.S. then you can enter your zip code to find your nearest retailers.
Try to get a fresh battery (less than 3 months if possible and no older than 6 months). Try to find a competent retailer also. Mine put pressure on my upper radiator hose, resulting in a nearly fatal break in the radiator's plastic flange where the hose attaches. Yes, I know those flanges get brittle and will break sooner or later anyway, but a 9000 battery can be replaced without touching that hose. Also, they didn't re-attach the battery hold-down clamp correctly. My retailer was one of their "Platinum Dealers".
If I had to do it again, I would drive to a different Interstate retailer, remove the battery myself, decline their battery test (they charge for it, and you can get your battery tested free elsewhere) and install the new battery myself.
If you decide to install it yourself, remember to keep both the old and new batteries upright at all times - otherwise you'll spill battery acid. Disconnect the negative terminal first of the old battery. When you install the new battery, connect the negative terminal last.
Your 9000 will "forget" how to idle smoothly for a while after changing your battery. That's normal, you didn't do anything wrong, and the problem will correct itself as you continue to drive. You'll have to enter the security code on your radio before it will play again.
Needless to say, I'm not an Interstate Batteries fanboy. If you find an alternative, please post it here.
