synthetic is a recent addition - about 12k miles. Perhaps it is the culprit; the leaks have definitely worsened over the year. I push the engine pretty hard, though, and I worry about dino breaking down. Is that justified?
to demystify, this car is a '90 with the 2.3 na.
I replaced the head gasket after the timing chain, the summer of 07, so I don't see any reason for die so quickly. No overheating or anything.
The oil lines are coated...I don't think I could touch any spot along either without soiling a rag. Probably not the worst thing, though, and they're somewhat expensive.
Also, to clarify, the main seal is at the harmonic balancer, right? I have that, the oil pump gasket, and the valve cover gaskets. Those bolts, though...I set my small torque wrench to 10 lbs and their heads twist off before the *click*. I think they've weakened over nineteen years of heat fluctuation.
I'll re-torque the head bolts replace the seals once classes end.
