Well, I assumed it was a pan of sorts because what they said was they changed the fluid and indicated that "parts of the transmission" were found when they changed the fluid....I just assumed there was some kind of pan based on my personal past experience.
I guess what I am really wondering is what kinds of "parts" would end up somewhere and is that a death notice on the tranny or could it be one of things that is serviceable.
Maybe I should be asking where they would have found these "parts".
For the record, these guys aren't hucksters. I do trust them, but I am not sure they are a really good tranny shop and just wanted to ask the right questions to make sure we covered all the bases.
I am planning on going over tomorrow and see what these "parts" look like. It just seems odd to me that given the fact that it drove strong and silent in "1" "2" and "3" and just seemed to have shifting problems, it doesn't sound like it "died" a traditional death.
