I don't see the need to use a ball joint splitter. (I assume it is to get the tie rod end off.) When I replaced the wheel bearing, I removed the brake rotor, unbolted the ball joint from the bottom A-arm, removed the two bolts that hold the hub to the strut, then pushed the axle stub out of the bearing. At that point, four socket-head cap screws are all that hold the wheel bearing to the yoke. You get at the four screws from the back of the yoke. If I recall correctly, you need an 8mm Allen wrench attachment to put on your 3/8 socket ratchet. You will probably need a small 3/8 breaker bar to get the screws started, and you will need a torque wrench to put the bearing back on. I don't ever remember spending more that 2 hours on the job, and once I did one in about an hour and 15 in a parking lot.
