If they both stopped working at the same time, it sounds like the switcher could be bad. I'd try bypassing the switch, plug the changer (and then the in-dash) directly into the headunit and see if the problem is fixed. If not, both units would need to be replaced I guess.
Contrary to what Fred below says, it is pretty unusual for the newer changers to break (if that's what he means by "cd pack gizmo"). However, you can replace the changer with a new Clarion DC 625 pretty cheap...the in-dash are expensive new...I'd find a used one.
Could always just replace the headunit with a new one with iPod or flash drive capability (have about 20,000 songs at my fingertip at all times) and improve your sound quality 100%...just thowin' that out there.
