I've gone with Eriksson on a couple of rebuilt ZF manual trannies for my 9k. They seem to last about 150K miles before something starts going. They are intolerant of extremely high power outputs, and typically, uprated chip sets will limit torque in 1st and 2nd gear so you don't trash the tranny. Up to 280 or 300 hp is probably OK, if you aren't constantly hitting it hard.
One thing about Eriksson is that they say they replace the slave cylinder routinely, but four years after I put in an Eriksson rebuilt unit, the slave cylinder went (slaves should last about 10 years), and I had to drive it back from Pennsylvania to Wisconsin without being able to disengage the clutch to shift....which led to my next rebuilt tranny. That time, I put in a new oem slave cylinder prior to installation, because I don't believe Eriksson replaces the slave cylinder like they say.
One thing that we've all learned: Don't allow anyone to use the new Saab synthetic transmission lubricant in your ZF manual transmission, unless you don't like your synchronizers and want to replace them sooner, rather than later. Use dino oil (non-synthetic) instead. Really. These transmissions were not designed with synthetic in mind. You'll lose your synchros within less than 10K miles. When I sent the tranny to the shop with my car, I included a 5 gallon jug of Castrol GTX 10W40.
