guilty/no contest plea

I was out of town in Texas last week. Driving in a small town in eastern Texas the GPS in my rental car led me astray to the opposite side of town. I finally realized I need to turn around to head to the refinery where I was already late for a scheduled meeting. I sped up oblivious to the local police following me until his siren blared. Although the cop was friendly, he wrote the ticket to the letter, 55 in a 40 zone when I reached the peak speed, not a mile less. My guess is the town is strapped for cash judging by the look of the neighborhood.
Anyway, I wasn't going to go to Texas again to plead with the prosecutor just for this so I am going to pay the piper to the tune of $162 and change. Two questions. On the citation I either plead not guilty or guilty/no contest. What is the difference and consequence of pleading guilty versus no contest? Second question is do I get the usual out-of-state offense of two points only when it comes back to New Jersey or I may get lucky with no points?
