...and doesn't make any weird noises. I haven't run it for more than a minute at a time in four years, however, as there isn't really any coolant in the system. As mentioned, only Mobil 1 was in the crankcase, and only distilled water and Mercedes antifreeze were in the cooling system -- nice fluids, so I'm not too worried about rust...
That paint trick is a great idea!
Clutch isn't in the project budget for now... will cross that bridge when I come to it, I think.
I'm worried about breaking exhaust manifold studs off in the head so am simply going to undo the four bolts where the manifold joins to the turbo and take the exhaust manifold with the head. Haven't decided on taking the intake manifold with the head... the bottom bolts look a little tough to get to! Will probably pull it off though as tons to disassemble if taking the intake manifold with the head...
