Fuel pump (FP), Crank Position Sensor (CPS) and DI cassette (DI). Or it could just be a bad ignition switch.
You say it doesn't turn over. Do you mean the engine doesn't start?
To narrow it down, do these things:
Get in the car and just turn on the key. Hopefully it's quiet where you do this so you can listen for a noise. Don't try to start the car. You should hear a hum/buzz from behind the rear seat--it lasts 2-3 seconds. If you don't hear it, the fuel pump is not running. It could be the pump itself or a fuse. The FP is mostly a once-in-the-life of the car thing for most owners and it can go with no warning. It's a pricey piece (about $500-700 including labor), but once done you don't have to worry about it for a long time.
With the ignition turned to ON, look at the dash. Do you see a bunch of lights on the instrument panel? If not, you may have a battery ground issue or a bad ignition switch. The switch is a $65 part, and <1 hour of labor.
If you get the dash lights, hear the FP, and the the car starts once it has cooled down, then the CPS is the likely culprit. Not hard to replace and not too expensive.
Next is the DI cassette, the red thing on the top of the engine. The DI is the main part of the ignition system and fires your spark plugs. They can die suddenly. You can get a new one one for about $390 from a site sponsor like eEuroparts (or take a chance on a used one for about $100). It takes 5 minutes to replace. Very easy... you could probably do it yourself. Both my daughters can.
Chances are it's one of these things. There are a couple of other possibilities, like a plugged fuel filter, or bad fuel pressure regulator.
Please come back for more help. These are great cars and run a long time if cared for, but do need some regular maintenance to keep them going. I have 2 and they are very reliable. Chance are yours just needs some extra "love."
