But if remove them you must, I'd suggest a pair of 10" Vise-Grips, the trademark originals, locked as tight as your hand can stand to squeeze them onto the shank of the stud, up close to the head.
Even though it's threaded there and the vise grips will leave teeth marks in the thread, don't worry as that part of the thread never gets a nut run on it.
DO NOT try this with the smaller (7"? 8"?) vise grips as they will just chew into the stud and tear away metal no matter how tight you lock them.
