I'd say it's do-able since the hole is probably not on a stress point. You literally just need something to keep the fluid in, it doesn't have to handle a lot of stress. This isn't a weld any mechanic could do though. Call around to see how would be comfortable with the job, or get a recommendation from your indie, etc.
