I've come to the conclusion of others on this board. I've been trying to figure this out for 2 years. When I put a 20 amp fuse in #16 and it didn't blow when the car was cold. The door locks worked a couple times when cold then failed as usual. The trunk didn't fail because the fuse didn't blow. Then I drove the car for an hour with the heat on and once the electronics in the controller/ warmed up we went back to functioning locks. The heat caused the materials to expand and closed the short. The bottom line is there has to be a break on a solder joint on the lock relay within the controller and I don't know which of the 2 relays it is, since there are 2 as I was told by people on this board. So it looks like re-flowing the solder can cure this problem. I'll report back after doing so. Thanks to all the people that have worked on this issue over the years.
This board need a general FAQ area for Repairs so all of us old Saabers aren't searching for solution through zillions of posts to try to find an answer. Is there any way to make this happen?
